As we ring in 2019, it is always a great opportunity to look ahead and see what the new year will hold. Recently, LinkedIn released their annual look at the year ahead with their 50 Big Ideas for 2019 comprised from insights from business and academic leaders, authors, and journalists.
Topping their list of the biggest ideas that the world needs to know about is Generation Z. In 2019, Gen Z will finally outnumber Millennials, representing one-third of the global population and one-fifth of global workers.
Gen Z possess many unique differences from Millennials and even previous generations that require companies to treat them differently as not only employees but also as consumers. According toDr. Brené Brown, research professor and author who has a large majority of her team made up of Generation Z. “They are all very different people, but as a group I experience them as curious, hopeful, always learning, painfully attuned to the suffering in the world, and anxious to do something about it.”
